With its plan to consolidate on the high end segment of Internet users in Nigeria and the West Coast region, Broadband internet service provider, Direct On PC (DOPC) recently installed its 6th hub in Germany. The hub or Earth Station comes as response to growing market demand for high end services by discerning customers of this award winning service provider.
Executive Director, Mr. Munish Sharma said in a press statement that the new hub is a state of the art technology. This is an HX hub which is based on the latest DVB-S2 technology with built in ACM. The platform is capable of delivering up to 3mbps uplink & 45mbps downlink at the customer end. On this hub; services will be provided to high end customers who need bigger internet bandwidth. This is an SCPC like solution which can be really beneficial to customers in the current situation when bandwidth on C band is scarcely available.
"This’ll help customers in bringing their set-up cost as well as recurring bandwidth cost down", Head- Operations; Anurag Garg; explained in a statement.
The corporate statement explained that DOPC installed its HNS Hub in Washington in August 2006 and since then "the response from the market has been tremendous" adding that "we thank all our esteemed customers who have made us so successful”. In today’s time when consolidation is going on in Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry where some ISPs are either closing down or are on sale; DOPC is growing stronger everyday" the statement added.
Apart from VSAT; DOPC launched its WiMAX broadband internet in June 2007. After one year of launch; the company said it is very satisfied in terms of response from the market." At the same time; we are not going to rest with this success and we are continuously increasing our coverage. The service is currently available almost everywhere in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
DOPC is providing a wide range of connectivity solutions for enterprise class customers in Nigeria & other West African countries.
DOPC has been adjudged the best ISP Company for the last five consecutive years in a row by NITTA (Nigerian Information Technology & Telecom Awards). Last year it also got Broadband Company of the year award in NITTA.
