In certain buildings, it is not possible to run CAT5 cable due to various reasons. In such case, Powernet is another innovative solution from DOPC. In Powernet, internet reaches each office/ home in the building by using normal electrical cables which are already in place. So, existing copper cable network used for electricity is used to flow internet to each office/ home. One important point to note is that in this solution, internet flows through electric cables but it doesn’t depend on current. So, even if there is no current in the wires, it’ll still work. Further, as internet is flowing through cables without use of current, it doesn’t affect your current anyway for normal use. Subscribers can draw internet from any power socket by attaching Powernet device (NT) to it. This technology gives limited mobility within the flat & you can draw internet from any power socket whether in living room or in bedroom or any other place seems suitable.
